Shin Sight (Love, Nourish, Protect)
The Hebrew letter Shin is found on most mezuzot. The Shin stands for “Shaddai” (almighty), one of the biblical names for God. It is said that each of the three lines that make a Shin stand for something different. There are many interpretations on what they mean, so after some research, I came up with the combination that I really like. They are “Love, Nourish and Protect”, the essential areas of energy needed to sustain a relationship.
This particular piece, “Shin Sight”, separates those parts, literally and figuratively, into three branches. When viewed from straight ahead, the individual branches or “sights” align and form a Shin, exploring how one’s point of view affects what they see. Each branch sits on its own translucent panel which is docked in a base.
One of the panels include the Kosher hand-scribed mezuzah scroll (Klaf) unfurled and exposed. The panels can be arranged in any order to create different levels of visibility for the text, from full frontal exposure to safely nestled in the middle. Whatever order they are in, the parts still come together to form the Shin.
SELF CONTAINED, INDOOR: includes a section of door frame incorporated into the base of the piece so it can be displayed anywhere indoors - no doorway needed.
FREE STANDING: to be displayed on a table, shelf or pedestal.
DIMENSIONS: 11” tall, 5.25” width, 7” length
NOTE: Includes Kosher hand-scribed mezuzah scroll (Klaf)
